Claims handling
Every time a claim notification is received it is "Show time".... right?
RealXS software features a claims management system that not only fixes policy data very efficiently t.for the purpose of the claim file, but which enables the tracking of all contacts that are or may be in any way relevant to the assessment and settlement of a claim.
SHOWTIME?
Every time a claim notification is received, it is "Show time".... right?
Advisers and claims handlers usually rely blindly on their knowledge and experience.
But the number of complaints about insurance products shows that knowledge and experience is not enough to handle cases.
On this page LINK we have detailed the usefulness of optimal reporting of rights under the contract.
This is not only essential for the adviser who advised the product,
it is just as important for the claims handler who must be able to assess as quickly as possible whether a claim is covered or not.
If there are grounds for doubt, he must promptly point out to the claims handler the need to collect specific information on this point. If he does not have doubts, then this is an opportunity to reassure the customer.
Every claim report offers a new opportunity to show that taking out insurance did indeed make sense. Those who can do that quickly and efficiently provide the customer with the service they expect. And that is therefore good for your corporate image. Of course, it is important to establish as quickly as possible whether a claim is covered or not. And if the claim is emphatically not covered by the intended insurance coverage, then the customer should be adequately explained as soon as possible why the policy is not in force.
DATA
The majority of claims should simply be able to be settled adequately and efficiently, and then it is conveniënt if this handling process can be automated. Fast handling is the best advertisement.
A good claim file contains up-to-date information on things like :
- the date
- the incident
- the location
- the estimated extent of the damage
- Salvage
- appointment of a damage expert
- yes/no contra-expertise
- registration of witnesses
- registration of parties involved (police, fire brigade, emergency services, hospitals)
- registration of legal parties (lawyers, accountants, notaries, fin. institutions)
- registration of counterparties claiming damages
- registration of counterparties from whom damages are to be recovered
- registration of relatives if people have died
In short : a forest of data on individuals and companies that may be important in claim settlement.
These address details may be important for conducting correspondence.
But equally, amounts are received from these addresses or are owed to such parties.
Casualty correspondents
A good claims correspondent is indispensable for any insurer or adviser.
If he has his affairs in good order, he is able to discharge his duties efficiently.
If he does not have his affairs in good order:
Then claims are wrongly rejected.
Then claims are wrongly awarded.
The role of the CEO
Management often seems to be behind the times.
As a CEO, you actually want to know as early as this afternoon what the claims burden is this morning as a result of slippery roads, flooding of a residential area or a fire in an industrial area.
Statistics
Or you want to know about the state of liability claims since 1 January this year.
If this information is only available in a year's time, you are basically sailing down a busy river blindfolded.
Team RealXS has equipped the system with a claims management system that not only fixes policy data for the purpose of the claims file in a very efficient way.
The other party / Witnesses / Officials / Lawyers / Notaries / Salvage staff / Experts
The system in fact also provides management of all contacts that are (or may be) important in one way or another for assessing and settling a claim.
Either equipped with its own current account in which all financial operations are processed and displayed.
Or not equipped with a digital file in which specific or general communications are stored.
Naturally linked to a word processor with which standardised or semi-standard or optional correspondence can be sent.
