Quality Centre RealXS / Compilers & Researchers
One module per coverage
The compiler of a Quality Scan must not only act professionally, but also impartially.
A Quality Scan of a product consists of several modules.
After a module has been compiled by one or more experts, policy examiners can apply it for a Quality Scan on a specific insurance product marketed by a provider. If this product contains coverage for which the module was written, it can be applied.
Obviously, the provider itself is best placed to compile a Quality Scan of its product.
Nice for the advisers, but even nicer for the claim handlers, who in this way can make the right choices regarding whether or not to grant the right to compensation. But the initiative to compile a module can also come from the intermediary.
The General Conditions module can be applied by default to every product.
And others can only be applied if the insurance package provides for compensation or damage to a specific insured interest. Such as Liability, Casco, Legal expenses.
Transparency
He or she who finds that a Scan does not provide, or does not provide sufficiently, for the presentation of positive or negative aspects, will be given the opportunity to call on the administrator(s) of the Scan to expand or modify it. This is also important for insurance product providers.
First, we show you a section of the Scan created for scanning the Terms and Conditions applied to a product. Putting together a basis for examining a section of terms and conditions.
Multiple Choice
So the creator of the proposition must realise what answers are conceivable. If it turns out later that a variant is missing, so it can always be added. A maximum of 99 answers can be applied.
Each proposition has a number (column A). Each answer has a number (B) and a rating (C).
In principle, there is room for 99 answers, but that requires a lot of detailed choice by the researcher making the Scan about a product.
A | Thesis or Statement | B | C | Choose a relevant answer |
---|---|---|---|---|
01 | Termination | 01 | 00 | Not applicable for this product (life) |
02 | 00 | Still under investigation (if you cannot choose yet) | ||
03 | 50 | Annually terminable for both parties | ||
04 | 01 | Client : terminable per contract expiry date | ||
05 | 70 | Early termination possible after 12 months | ||
06 | 40 | Automatically terminated unless renewed |
The rating in column C is meant to indicate whether this answer is market-compliant (50) or negative for the customer.
If the answer is very favourable to the customer, the score can go up to 99. A rating is thus created for each module.
And the ratings of all modules in turn lead to a rating of the product as a whole.
The rating of the product can only be appreciated if it is compared/measured with other insurance products. After all, a rating of 52 still stands out head and shoulders above a rating of 43.
So if an insurance product covers a package with 14 components, the researcher must scan 15 modules : The 14 individual coverages plus the General Conditions:
01) Liability
02) Hull
03) Marine equipment
04) Propulsion / Engine
05) Contents
06) Trailer
07) Derrick
08) dinghy
09) BB motor dinghy
10) Legal assistance
11) Luggage for persons on board
12) Accidental Death for persons on board
13) Accidental Invalidity for persons on board
14) Breakdown assistance
And of course:
00) The General Terms and Conditions
For each module, a good draft will contain between 20 and 40 questions with relevant answers.
Whitelabel:
To get an idea of the usability of the scan of a module, it makes sense to make a Scan of a so-called Whitelabel product. This is a product that scores maximum on all statements. In this way, one gains insight into the score, which may be utopian, but thus discovers the scope for a high score.

The modules should be deployable as a basis for all products offering the relevant coverage.

The fact that a "gold" insurance product sometimes offers spectacularly poor cover was evident during a third-party commissioned study of the terms and conditions of AMEX Gold Card Insurance
If and when the composition of the Quality Scan is changed, the researchers are given the opportunity to review the Scan they have compiled. Thus, their individual Scans remain up-to-date.
