Preparation Product registration Part 1a
Products come in many varieties. With insurance products, it is no different.
Registering your insurance product in the Backoffice
To register a product, the creator will have to work in detail to make it clear to the Backoffice which factors are relevant to his product.
We break this down into the following four parts :
The Agreement;
The Interests (hull, collision, legal, b.i.) that can be insured with the product (Premium Components);
The information relating to insurers and how they are registered;
The information relating to specific objects or persons, if and insofar as they are covered by one or more Premium Components and for which premium is due.
1) THE CONTRACT
Insurance products or packages are usually created over time. Advancing insight, competition and/or demand from the market have greatly influenced insurance products as they are currently found in the market. From fire policy to comprehensive cover or "all calamities": everything has a price tag. It is then important that the products can be managed properly. In addition to a set of adequate insurance terms and conditions, the product should be provided with an adequate system for:
submitting a request for quotation.
accepting the application / referring it to an underwriter
upon acceptance : calculating an offer premium / applying specific provisions
preparing a digital quotation
sending an IPID (Insurance Product Information Document)
processing an instruction to conclude an insurance contract
drawing up the policy (digital signature on behalf of insurer(s) or otherwise)
invoicing and collecting the first premium
invoicing and collecting renewal premiums in instalments of 1,2,3,4,6 or 12 months
All things that need to be clear if an insurance product is to be automated.
Team RealXS is committed to making its software easy to use. So without the need for
having to employ IT specialists and analysts for implementations or changes in terms and conditions, clauses
package components, etc.
For the registration of an insurance product, it is desirable for the designer of that product to be well prepared for the information he needs to be able to tell the system. After all : the system cannot perform if it does not have all the coordinates that are important for proper processing.
Thus, the designer must have facts such as :
